    1. I m not quite sure what the big deal is about this book reviewers seem to be reacting as if they had never seen a picture book with peek through cutout pages before It s hardly a new idea But it s a nice, solid ABC book with good illustrations I would have liked if all the pictures matched up on both sides of the letters rather than only some I liked the ones that matched as you flipped them much better But kids at the appropriate age level probably won t notice In case that s hard to visualize [...]

    2. I m pretty sure this is the first board book I ve ever reviewed probably because the vast majority of board books even ones that do a good job of being developmentally appropriate for babies and toddlers are quite unremarkable If they re not adaptations of other things like popular toddlers TV shows, picture books, nursery rhymes, etc they are simple concept books This one falls into the latter category, but it s worth noticing for its beautiful artwork and the way the letter is cut out on each [...]

    3. This ABC board book stands out with its bold artwork and clever design Very curious about the other block books now since this is such a favorite with my toddler.

    4. We have tried out a lot of letter books but this is the one my oldest two children seem to really enjoy The pages are shaped like the letters they are It s a fun, interesting and unique book for little people learning their alphabet.

    5. A good solid alphabet book The illustrations are fun, and there is just something about the colors I find especially pleasing It s a cut out book, but somehow durable than your average flap book, which we normally avoid for our toddlers Both our kids enjoy this one, and I can already see it helping the 2 year old gain even interest in letters, as it seems to hold her attention longer than some alphabet books.

    6. I read this book with my four year old to help reinforce the ABCs She loved that we were reading such a big, thick book together The peek through cut outs on the letters made it of a fun read than the typical alphabet book The text is simple in order to focus on the alphabet concept The pictures are vibrant and simple, which is a factor I can appreciate in this type of book.

    7. This is a great book to introduce the alphabet to students It always shows students examples of each letter Students could do many activities with this book and the alphabet.

    8. Beautifully designed and perfect for my alphabet obsessed toddler who likes to read it on her own and talk about all the letters and pictures

    9. Laura was mostly interested in the images behind the letters that seemed to pop out of no where when we turned the pages.

    10. Love this hardy alphabet book for little ones I am so impressed with this book, the cover is thick and slick and each page is hard and slick and it will be able to handle the test of time with little ones flipping through its pages many, many times Each letter of the alphabet is present in a 4 page layout with the first two pages consisting of showing the letter with a picture on one side and the other side, the letter of the alphabet is cut out and the reader can glimpse what the letter is goin [...]

    11. I ordered this for my toddler for Christmas It arrived today I LOVE this book The illustrations are fabulous It is very thick to accommodate the entire alphabet The center pages can t open quite as wide because of that It seems very sturdy Each page has two facing pages with a center letter cut out page that flips between the two This makes the illustrations especially interesting I really enjoyed x for x ray On the left page is a hand, on the right page is an x ray of the same hand When you tur [...]

    12. This is a board book that goes through the alphabet letter by letter Each letter gets a 2 page spread with a cut out of the letter that separates the 2 pages When the letter isn t turned, you see a scene, the large letter, and the words is for When you turn the letter it reveals the object that is represented by the letter For instance, the scene for K shows a hill and a sky with clouds, the Giant K followed by is for When you turn the K, you see the hill and sky with clouds and a kite flying in [...]

    13. This alphabet books is fabulous The design is well thought out Each letter of the alphabet takes up four pages of the book The first two page spread gives the reader a cut out of the letter with is for printed on it So, F is for Peeking from behind the cut out of the letter is the a clue as to what the letter stands for On the next two page spread, the reader sees what it is the letter stands for In F s case it is fish My favorite letters in this book are M for Moon and X for X ray This is defin [...]

    14. A high quality alphabet concept book for toddlers and early preschoolers.Things I loved great illustrations, cut out but not detachable letters so kiddos can feel as well as see the letter shapes, a guess what the word is format with lots of picture support Minor peeves the letter i is the only vowel that uses the long as opposed to the short sound, the letter j stands for juggler not horrid, but not common for the 2 3 year old set, the letter z stands for zoom not an unknown word, but all the o [...]

    15. Franceschelli, C 2013 Alphablock New York Abrams Appleseed.2014 ALSC Notable Children s BooksAlphabet This book is a perfect early learner tool for alphabet practice It features cut out letters on each spread, emphasizing the shape of the letter and adding to the surprise on the next page The spreads featuring the front of cut out letters set the scene of the the word associated with the letter, then the word is revealed when the the letter page is turned The images are bright and friendly, but [...]

    16. OK, so this is another one of those baby books board books that isn t really FOR babies and is actually pretty good for a girl my age It s really creative and artistic It s got all the letters in the right order and then a word and a picture for each one, and what s good is, the letters are all cut out so you can SEE them But don t get confused when you turn the pages and they look backwards.

    17. Thick pages provide children the opportunity learn the alphabet by examining the letter cut out and then guessing words that describe part of the image that begins with that letter seen through the holes in the cut out.Alphablock is a colorful and eye catching lesson on the alphabet that is enjoyable for children and adults alike.Promotes vocabulary, phonological awareness, print awareness, letter knowledge and narrative skills.

    18. This sturdy board book is a visual alphabet delight Page turns and cut outs encourage readers to guess the answer to, A is for , B is for , etc as you travel through the alphabet Visual clues not only make the game fun, but also create compelling compositions The graphics have distinct edges and bold colors Read More at Picture Book a Day picturebookaday 2

    19. This hefty alphabet book incorporates the letters into the artwork and operates sort of like a lift the flap book in which the object that represents the letter is revealed upon flipping the diecut letter page over to complete the illustration. This would make a great gift book The images that are used to represent the letters are well chosen I especially liked the image of the X ray for letter X PreK 2.

    20. I really liked this ABC board book with cutout letter pages I like how the kids get the opportunity to guess what the letter is for i.e G is forrden by looking at the picture context clues This brings print awareness to the child and as well as letter and background knowledge The illustrations are excellent, and makes for a great first ABC gift.

    21. The category of this book is alphabet books and the intended age range is elementary school.Learning the letters of the alphabet is what the book is about Children can learn the alphabet and be curious at the same time I absolutely love the book for children and parents The visuals are what make the book come alive.

    22. What a fantastic alphabet book with nice, board book pages for the the very early readers Great illustrations accompany die cut letters and reveal a sense of wonder and fantasy behind every letter Great for toddler storytimes especially if you do an A B C activity with a felt board and felt letters.

    23. This is a really simple, but nicely illustrated book about the alphabet My 2 year old son has been obsessed about letters lately and really likes turning the pages to find the item that represents the letter He asks to read it at least once a day, so I figure it must be a highly rated book in his mind.

    24. I gave this a 5 stars because it is unique Yes, it is much the same as other ABC books, but I love that the Cut outs are the letters and they blend into the next page You just have to look at it Sadly because of this book can t be checked out at our library because of the easily damaged pages Very good ABC book

    25. This is a wonderful series for children starting to familiarize themselves with letters and simple words The books are very chunky and they are able to withstand multiple little hands reading them The illustrations are colorful and captivating Little ones will be fascinated with this book, it s fun and educational.

    26. Great way for kids to start learning their letters My three year old is just starting to recognize letters and associate them with sounds This is perfect for him and he loves completing _ is for as we flip through it.

    27. A delightful easy reader with lots of simplicity for the narrator and audience Each letter block is vibrant with great kid friendly pictures Hardback book is great tactile feature for preschoolers.

    28. So fun I love some of the choices used for the letters And I liked how as each letter page turned, it blended in with the scene created I don t know if it will last long as a library book, but I d love it for my own kids

    29. Alphablock is one of my favorite alphabet books, and is SO cleverly designed My two year old learned his alphabet from this book I imagine it might be difficult to find at libraries, but is worth the purchase We ve read through it hundreds of times.
