    1. I had such high hopes for this book I ve been interested in the murders of Tupac and Biggie for years I watched the BET six part documentary about Death Row Records and this week I plan on watching the USA limited series Unsolved The Assassinations of Tupac The Notorious B.I.G ButThis book was just awful It was all over the place and despite the material they had to work with it was still boring I know this book has gotten great reviews and some consider it to be the definitive book on the cases [...]

    2. The gist of whats going on in this book is that the author concludes, mainly through interviews with a detective that was on the Biggie Smalls murder case that the murders of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls were hits ordered by Suge Knight and were carried out by police officers who were affiliated with the Bloods street gang and worked as security for Knights Death Row record label.I don t know if he gets it right or not but he does make a pretty good argument that this is the case When a white [...]

    3. do i believe everything in this book no do i believe the death row records had lapd officers on their payroll yes is tupac still alive i still dont know.

    4. I couldnt put this book down captivating shockingly eye opening The info about LA COPs working as hitmen security for SUGE is unreal Theres a pic of Dre and Pac sitting at decks looking very uncomfortable with all these Gang Banger cops partying it up behind them while they try and mix tunes Also makes Training Day look like a documentary think a guy called Perez was the inspiration for Alonzo Another Gangster Blood Cop apparently was caught for pulling off one of the biggest heists in American [...]

    5. Despite the title, which brings to mind a quickly written and poorly researched book who s sole purpose is to capitalize on a sensationalistic crime, this is a book that clearly maps out the interconnected murders of Biggie Smalls, and Tupac This is a well researched book that reads like a thriller Even though I knew the end result, I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat This book has it all, sex, drugs, murder, gangs, a corrupt police department, celebrity , money and crime At the center [...]

    6. A fascinating look into the inner workings of the Death Row record label and it s ties to the Los Angeles Police Department.

    7. A couple of months ago my wife and I got sucked into some television show about 90s gangster rap and the glib details in that program prompted a discussion about the shooting deaths of Christopher Wallace Notorious B.I.G Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur I got kind of interested in the story because of course I had heard about it and I remember the news coming out at the time, and I d heard the grumblings and rumblings since that there was something fishy about the way the murders had never been so [...]

    8. I read this book the first time without properly analysing its claims but having read it again and with other knowledge that has become known, I d say this book is only A theory into the murders of Biggie and Tupac but not THE theory The book title firstly, is slightly misleading as it gives the impression that is an in depth investigation into both murders of Tupac and Biggie however the book is primarily about the corruption in the LAPD which further branches out to the murders of Tupac Biggie [...]

    9. True story of LAPD detectives implicated in death of Tupac others, connections to Shug Knight Excellent reporting well written

    10. The book LAbryinth by Randall Sullivan is an extremely interesting book that I believe solves a lot of questions The killing of Tupac Shakur and Christopher Wallace are investigated throughout the entire book This book starts off with a simple investigation and follows the chapters in the documentary made a few years back The investigators believe that the killing of Tupac has a lot to do with Suge Knight who was apparently known to be Shakurs right hand man and the one who signed Tupac to his l [...]

    11. As a fan of both Tupac and Biggie, I was very interested in learning about what really went down Former Officer Poole seems to think he has the answers so I was eager to learn what he knows so I could draw my own conclusions Mostly, I was very disappointed especially by the author s extreme bias For example, on page 14 of the hardcover version, Sullivan notes that In the early 1960s , as now, black males committed a hugely disproportionate amount of crime in Los Angeles and across the country W [...]

    12. This is a really good book, it tells the story of how some cops in Los Angeles started to go corrupt, they started to become gangsters and covering up murders for gangsters The story tells about evidence and witnesses of the death of tupac shakur, and biggie smalls B.I.G, the were the biggest names in rap, the came up with songs still popular today the story tells about an officer, kevin gaines who threatened one of his fellow officers after he found out he was working with gangs in L.A this sto [...]

    13. It s true crime, it ain t hip hop, and no other book makes that distinction as clear I m not sure if this the definitive book on the Pac Biggie murders, but it s one of the influential ones, and Randall Sullivan certainly did some research for it but he was pulling LAPD Internal Affairs reports, not back issues of The Source Maybe that s all right, it s certainly not a bad thing to have a book about hip hop s most notorious murders that strips away the cult of celebrity and reminds us that thes [...]

    14. This book tells the story of LAPD and its involvement in the Shug Knight, Big E Smalls, Tupac Shakur, and Death Row Records scandal It delineates the story behind how the LA Crips and Bloods gangs were started, how rap and hip hop in Southern California was started on the east coast, and why there exists a feud between the East and West coasts Labryinth also explains the events which led up to LAPD s Rampart Scandal and the detectives who were assigned to the shooting between an undercover detec [...]

    15. Fascinating account of two high profile homicide cases, Death Row Records, the Frank Lyga Kevin Gaines shooting, and the Rampart corruption scandal Apparently the late Russell Pool received some new information regarding the murders that led him to a different conclusion than the one he arrived at back when he was a detective working on the case So I ll be curious to see if Randall Sullivan releases a revised edition of LAbyrinth that includes new chapters detailing Russell Pool s findings With [...]

    16. This book was good but not great I really enjoyed learning about the LAPD and the corruption within Hopefully, this idea is nothing new to any of us, but getting another look, a closer look, was very refreshing I also enjoyed how the book centered around the murders of Tupac and Biggie, it made the book relevant and interesting However, if this interests you, you probably also know that those investigations dead ended Even after reading the book, I still do not feel like the true story has ever [...]

    17. The story is real and the book Labyrinth is written by Randall Sullivan. The story takes place in LA The book contains content on the murder of the two celebrities. They have a name and they try their best to pin it to the crime but lose in the court room The book was great I loved it it open my eyes to know about this case I rated the 4 out of 5 stars because it was great but not a lot of action as i thought I really realized you cant judge a book by its cover Overall it was a great book and I r [...]

    18. This is a good review of the East Coast vs West Coast feud and documenting the key players in the events surrounding the deaths of Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G along with the corruption of the LAPD Rampart Division I didn t realize till I was in the middle of reading the book that one of my favorite T.V series The Shield was based on the corruption of the Rampart Division Wouldn t recommend this book to everybody but if your into the history surrounding music or celebs, I would recommend [...]

    19. amazing if you have any interest in hip hop, crime, cultural studies you need to read this book weaving together tupac s murder, biggie smalls murder, the lapd scandal corruption, the gang wars in la, the affects of the la riots and the oj simpson trial, racial tensions and suge knight s alleged roll in it all i couldn t put it down randall sullivan makes a series of true life events so compelling you can t believe he didn t make them up eye opening, shocking and enraging one of the best things [...]

    20. This was a super interesting book I was expecting to read a bunch of conspiracy theories about Tupac and Biggie Smalls, instead it was about how all these separate stories all weaved together The connections between LAPD and Suge Knight along with the corruption within the department was startling It did get a little long, but very interesting.

    21. Damn Suge Knightn t believe it, didn t know Without spoiling too much for anyone who doesn t already know the dirt and rumors This book may be something of a guilty pleasure, but I don t feel too bad for having consumed it as quickly as I did If you re interested in knowing about the East Coast West Coast feud and Tupac s tragic death, it s required reading.

    22. 10.7 Beware the Ides of MarchOn March 15th in 44 BC, Julius Caesar, leader of Rome was stabbed to death by Marcus Junius Brutus, Gaius Cassius Longinus, Decimus Junius Brutus and several other Roman senatorsRead a book of True Crime Ex The Darkest Night The Murder of Innocence in a Small Town

    23. the book Labyrinth is good so far I am on chapter 2 chapter 2 mostly talks about the investigations and how the LAPD works on investigating the evidence in who was behind the murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.

    24. A CRAZY BOOK This makes you look at things differently Behind the murders of Tupac and Biggie INSANE Awesome book Must read if you want to know the real story Not at all about East Coast West Coast.

    25. Wow a terrific book about the 2pac Biggie cases as well as the LAPD corruption scandal it s baffling how these corrupt cops did what they did It was a very interesting book that will keep you at the edge of your seat

    26. obviously, my obsession with Tupac has extended past his art and politics and into the scandals, crimes and shady shit that surrounded his life and death so far, an okay account, well researched it seems.

    27. Probably as close to the truth as anyone has ever come The case appears pretty open and shut but most likely it will never be closed and the murderers never caught Which is to bad cause those guys were pretty talented and their families deserve some justice.

    28. And extremely good book that showed me a lot about the corruption and bullying that s a place in the 80s in the hip hop and rap world in particular Very thought provoking and involving throughout

    29. Excellent book I believe I ve finally learned who is truly to blame for the murders of rap s greatest icons The research done in the book is astounding I have a feeling that I m going to go an a true crime binge now.

    30. I love intrigue and this doesn t disappoint This was a juicy read about rap stars, murder, gangsters, and dirty LAPD cops Who killed Biggie Who killed Tupac How was the LAPD involved Police corruption opened wide A fascinating read, even the second time around.
