The Story of Queen Esther by Jenny Koralek provides young readers a brief, yet brilliantly illustrated version of the well known bible story When King Ahasureus selects a new queen he picks Esther from among the beautiful maidens in the land, not realizing she is Jewish When the Jewish people are threatened with annihilation due to the prejudice of Haman, Ahasureus s advisor, Esther must overcome her fears and protect her people The bold, rich pastels provided by Grizelda Holderness are the cent [...]

    2. This book is based on the biblical story of Queen Esther It teaches courage by fasting and praying Ester needed courage to approach the king her husband because her people were about to be killed Like many slavery stories that happened around the world and the courageous people who stood up for people s rights, Queen Ester stood up for her people This book is great in teaching equal rights and is good for 2nd 5th graders.

    3. Very nice picture book story about Queen Esther and how she and Mordecai through wisdom and God s hand saved the people of Israel from death I enjoyed the illustrations, better for older children as there are themes of death and execution.

    5. BEAUTIFUL Persian inspired art telling the story of Esther and Mordecai and the advent of the Feast of Purim A bit long for the storytimes I do, but definitely something I would recommend.
